NYC duo Pry just dropped their latest single, So Good, and let’s just say—it’s got us feeling exactly that. Urgent, hooky, and soaked in that dreamy-meets-gritty alt-rock energy, this track is another taste of what’s coming on their debut album, ‘Wrapped in Plastic,’ landing May 29, 2025.

So Good is all about waking up from life’s blur and realizing you’ve changed—or maybe just come back to yourself. It’s raw and fast-moving, with guitars that spiral and dive around Simeon Beardsley’s vulnerable, no-frills vocals. Add a few subtle synths and lyrics pulled from an unfinished poem by Simeon’s grandfather, and you’ve got something that feels intimate but expansive, grounded yet floaty.

It’s about being reintroduced to yourself after living in a blur,” Pry say. “It was lightly inspired by a poem called ten roses and reading into the lines left blank.”

Listen to So Good now
And go ahead and pre-save ‘Wrapped in Plastic’ while you’re at it—you’re going to want it in your life.

Pry kicked things off in 2023 with the single Don’t You Want To See, and they’ve been steadily building momentum ever since. Tracks like Tether You (a recent Pitchfork Selects pick), Heaven, and Greener have set the tone for an album that walks the line between nostalgia and fresh urgency. Think shoegaze fuzz, nu-metal grit, jangly pop, and huge emotion—all in one tight package.

On May 31, Pry will celebrate Wrapped in Plastic with an album release show at Night Club 101 in NYC, alongside Crate and Cal Fish. Don’t sleep on it—it’s shaping up to be one of those shows people talk about all summer.

Meet Pry

What started as a shared spark between Amara Bush and Simeon Beardsley in 2023 has grown into one of Brooklyn’s most exciting new acts. Bush picked up bass and guitar during lockdown; Beardsley came from 15 years of DIY bands in New Mexico. Together, they started tossing demos back and forth and building songs on drum loops—just two people in a room with ideas and noise. Fast forward, and they’re leading a full band with a reputation for high-energy, emotionally-charged live shows.

Expect walls of sound, synths up front, explosive drums, and a whole lot of heart. It’s indie, it’s alt, it’s shoegaze, it’s pop—it’s Pry.

Listen. Pre-save. Catch a show.
Pry are just getting started—and ‘Wrapped in Plastic’ is the proof.
