26-Track Compilation Showcases B-Sides, Covers, and Never-Before-Released Singles
Red Fang rings in two decades of riff-fueled mayhem with ‘Deep Cuts’, a sprawling 26-track collection of non-album rarities, B-sides, and previously unreleased material, landing March 14 via Relapse Records.
Fans get an early taste with the release of It’s Always There, a track lifted from the deluxe version of Whales and Leeches. Guitarist Bryan Giles reflects: “I remember really liking the melancholic vibe of ‘It’s Always There,’ but Aaron and I had no vocal ideas coming to mind. I reached out to Pall Jenkins, a musician I admired from Three Mile Pilot and The Black Heart Procession. He brought it to life in such a beautiful way.”
‘Deep Cuts’ digs deep into the band’s vault, unearthing tracks like Antidote (from the ‘Red Fang: Headbang!’ mobile game), a demo version of Wires making its vinyl debut, and fiery covers of Wipers’ Over The Edge and Tubeway Army’s Listen To Sirens.
Looking Back on 20 Years of Red Fang
Aaron Beam reflects on the band’s milestone: “Maybe no one else finds this remarkable, but TWENTY YEARS?! That’s insane to me. Before Red Fang, I’d been in at least 40 bands—none lasted more than two years. But in 2005, John, David, Bryan, and I all found ourselves band-less. Naturally, we started jamming together.”
“Our goal was simple: make music our friends would love hearing at a basement party. That’s how it started, and no matter how big the stages got, we always tried to bring that energy. ‘Deep Cuts’ feels right at home in that spirit. It’s got weird covers, rough demos, and rare tracks that even the internet might not have unearthed yet.”
