Revival Season is back—and they’re kicking things off with a fierce new single and video for 8’3. Hailing from Atlanta, GA, producer Jonah Swilley (a founding member of Mattiel and a standout on Night Beats’ production roster) teams up with Columbus rapper Brandon “Bez” Evans to deliver a track that’s as unpredictable as it is irresistible.

New single + video 8’3

Dubbed a “filthy smudge of a garage rock riff” mashed up with a stoned, ultraviolent Funkadelic groove, 8’3 is built on raw, primal energy. Revival Season describes it as heavy-duty hip-hop boiled down to the most essential rock’n’roll vibes—a track that’s sure to get you jumping. With praise pouring in—Consequence calls Golden Age of Self Snitching hype as hell and remarkably accessible—it’s clear the duo is stirring up something special.

Announcing the ‘Formless’ mixtape

Set to drop on May 16 via Heavenly Recordings, the ‘Formless’ mixtape promises to take you deeper into the unique sonic universe of Revival Season. This five-track collection dives into grimy garage rock riffs, clipped mutant drum tracks, and grooves that defy the label “formless.” In fact, with tracks like 8’3, Slick Rick, Doobie Ashes, Pissy Twin, and Full Frontal, the result is anything but formless.

On Tour and More

Keep an eye on the stage this summer—Revival Season is slated to perform at Pickathon, OR from July 31 to August 3, with more U.S. dates rolling out soon. They’re known for their potent chemistry, combining Swilley’s busted-speaker, gut-punch beats with Bez’s laser-sharp bars, crafting a modern twist on G funk (with the “G” paying homage to their Georgia roots).

A Quick Trip Down Memory Lane

Since dropping their debut single Iron Warrior in 2021 for Heavenly, Revival Season has been on a roll—from the dub-infused ‘Outernational’ mixtape to standout singles like Pump, Everybody, Chop, and Propaganda. Their contributions to projects like Speedy Wunderground’s SXSW EP and the release of their debut album ‘Golden Age of Self Snitching’ have solidified their reputation as one of the most innovative duos in modern music. With politically charged tracks like White House Black and fun hits like Dim Sum, 2025 is shaping up to be another exciting chapter in their story.
