After surprising fans with their ambient album ‘Nebulous Nights (An Ambient Excursion into Profound Mysteries)’ in December 2024, electronic music icons Röyksopp—Svein Berge and Torbjørn Bruntland—are turning up the energy in 2025. Their new album, ‘True Electric,’ is set to drop on April 11, delivering a fresh, electrifying take on their celebrated live performances.

The project kicks off with a reimagined version of their classic track What Else Is There? featuring Fever Ray. This pulsating, high-intensity rendition breathes new life into the 2005 hit from The Understanding. To mark the release, Röyksopp collaborated with longtime creative partner Stian Andersen to craft a vibrant visualizer, shot during the duo’s kinetic 2023 ‘True Electric’ show in Athens.

‘True Electric’ compiles 19 powerful studio renditions of tracks from Röyksopp’s 2023 True Electric tour. The album features the never-before-heard track The ‘R’ alongside fresh reworkings of fan favorites. These include the iconic Robyn collaboration Do It Again (from their 2014 EP) and Running To The Sea featuring Susanne Sundfør (from The Inevitable End). Fans will also recognize new interpretations of tracks from their critically acclaimed Profound Mysteriestrilogy, released in 2022.

Discussing the album, Svein and Torbjørn shared:
“True Electric consists of recordings and renditions designed to capture the energy and essence of our live shows. It emphasizes the clubbier side of our music while reconnecting with our roots in electronic sound.”
