Los Angeles shoegaze newcomers Steel Wool introduce their self-titled debut EP, set for release on April 10 via independent LA label Bug Body. To mark the occasion, they unveil the lead single Fading alongside a hypnotic music video.

A hazy meditation on dissolution, Fading unfolds in layers of reverb-drenched atmosphere, steadily building before erupting into a storm of feedback and distortion. The track is a perfect showcase of the band’s signature mix of delicate melody and all-consuming noise.

Steel Wool—composed of Sean Lissner (guitar/vocals), Jaden Amjadi (bass/screaming), Sam Schlesinger (guitar), and Evan Landi (drums)—have carved out a name for themselves through boisterous live sets in garages, backyards, and DIY spaces across LA. Their raw, immersive energy translates seamlessly into their recordings, making their upcoming EP one to watch.

Since debuting Eyes Closed last October, covering Last Christmas for Hit The North Records’ PCRF Charity Compilation, and performing a live session at KXLU, Steel Wool has been steadily making waves across Southern California’s underground music scene.
