NEW ALBUM ‘20247’ DROPS MARCH 7 (DANGER COLLECTIVE RECORDS)
Spring Tour Includes NYC’s Trans-Pecos (April 3) & LA’s Permanent Records (April 12)
Performing at SXSW Music Festival
Taxidermists—the Massachusetts-based duo of Cooper B. Handy (LUCY) and Salvadore McNamara—are back with their latest single and video, Does The Wind Know. The track is a short, punchy blast of post-punk energy, packed with infectious riffs that linger long after the final note. Taken from their upcoming album ‘20247,’ out March 7 via Danger Collective Records, the song is a winter mantra, a love song, and an ode to staying true to your path. “We sing together on the majority of this one,” the band shares. “Does the wind know that you’re cold?”
Following the album’s first single Shoot—which grabbed attention from The FADER, American Songwriter, and Austin Town Hall—this latest track cements Taxidermists’ place in the lineage of gritty, DIY post-punk.

A DECADE OF DIY SPIRIT
McNamara and Handy’s musical journey began in 2007 when they met on Myspace as pre-teens. Since then, they’ve built Taxidermists with a no-frills, DIY ethos: no pretension, no gimmicks, just raw passion. They balance their love for creating with the laid-back energy of two best friends making music for the pure joy of it.
That spirit is at the heart of ‘20247’. Written and recorded in the dead of winter in McNamara’s garage studio—where a lone space heater fought against 39°F temperatures—the album is as immediate and unfiltered as it gets. Most songs were crafted in a single night, with the longest track clocking in at just 2:50. Recorded straight to tape, ‘20247’ is rough-edged, deeply human, and brimming with the duo’s unmistakable chemistry. It’s a record that pulses with spontaneity, collaging moments, memories, and emotions into something undeniably alive.
