The enigmatic Liverpool collective The Revolutionary Army of The Infant Jesus are set to make 2025 an unforgettable year, unveiling a brand-new EP, a rare live performance, and a special reissue of their cult-classic LP, ‘Rumours of Angels’.

A New Chapter: ‘Devotion to a Noble Ideal’

On April 25th, the band releases ‘Devotion to a Noble Ideal’, an ambitious four-track EP recorded in collaboration with a range of creative partners. It blends reinterpretations of past works with a brand-new composition, ‘After the Silence’, offering a haunting and transformative listening experience.

The EP was recorded at Crosstown Studios (Liverpool) and Sound Gallery Studios (Exeter), engineered by Jon Lawton, co-produced by Lawton and RAIJ, and mastered by Ste Cole at What Studio.

Reflecting on the new release, the band shares: “This work continues our journey—moving from certainty to uncertainty, deconstructing and rebuilding, seeking fresh meaning through creative collaboration. It’s about rediscovery, reshaping the past, and searching for beauty and truth in new forms. Each track is a step towards enlightenment, a pathway home, and an invitation to explore the unknown.”

Also on May 2nd, the long-awaited reissue of ‘Rumours of Angels’ will be released on 12” LP & CD, including the additional track ‘Mouvement’. This compilation brings together studio recordings, live performances, and remastered tracks from the band’s deeply influential catalog.

Founded in Liverpool in 1985, The Revolutionary Army of The Infant Jesus has spent nearly 40 years defying musical classification. Their evocative soundscapes blend folk, sacred music, industrial, ambient, and experimental elements, drawing comparisons to artists such as Dead Can Dance, Current 93, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Their rare performances incorporate film, field recordings, and ritualistic movements, creating truly immersive experiences.
