Montreal’s Stars have released Yumi Zouma’s darkly urgent new remix of their ‘From Capelton Hill’ original Back To The End. The reworking by the New Zealand-based electro-pop group is the latest preview of Stars’ 17-track expanded edition of their 2022 LP: ‘From Capelton Hill’ Deluxe, due out on April 21st via Last Gang Records / MNRK. “There’s not many bands in the world right now who understand melody and style the way Yumi Zouma does,” says Stars’ Torquil Campbell. “I’ve been a huge fan for years, and also felt like they were kindred spirits in their pursuit of the perfect pop song. We’re thrilled to have them touch our music so beautifully.”
Back To The End (Yumi Zouma Remix) follows the release of Stars’ new music video for That Girl, directed/filmed in Amsterdam by Anthony Von Seck, and two other remixes by illuminati hotties (Pretenders) and Benjamin Gibbard (Snowy Owl). ‘From Capelton Hill’ was released last May via Last Gang Records / MNRK to acclaim from MOJO (4/5), Exclaim! (8/10), Brooklyn Vegan (“few bands that were with us at the dawn of the millennium continue to sound this vital”), NEXT, Under The Radar, Music OHM (4/5), Record Collector (4/5) and CBC ‘q’, among others.
