The Citradels release their latest LP ‘Are They Still Here?’

After the release of their single Honey last October, The Citradels have released their latest LP ‘Are They Still Here?’ on vinyl via psych rock label Psychic Ric Records. All five members decided to camp out in isolation for 5 days and record the album in a 50 year old disused butter factory in rural Victoria. The band chose the space for its emptiness, its history, and wanted to place themselves in an atmosphere where they could do nothing but complete the album. Take a listen to Honey, which is lifted from the album via Soundcloud below.

The band attempts to release as much as they can to keep gigging and stay relevant in the local psych scene.

The Citradels in the past have been produced more “drone and roll” tunes complete with fuzz guitar and sitars that induce listeners into a meditative state. The band wears its influences on its sleeve with ‘Are They Still Here?’ has a rather electric undertone harking back to classic shoegaze legends such as Slowdive and Ride, but with an edgier air to it along the lines of Spacemen 3. The five piece neo psych/showgaze/drone have managed to capture fuzzy riff based numbers but also have a few slow burners to bliss out to.
