Still in their teens and emerging from the same South London scene as the likes of Shame, Misty Miller and Fat White Family, the Shark Dentist line up of Grady Steele (Vocals / Guitar), Campbell Baum (Vocals / Guitar), Andrew Spiteri (Bass Guitar) and Jamie Staples (Drums) have a basic DIY contemporary ‘punk’ ethic and the desire to make great music and play as many gigs wherever they can.
The band currently reside in Camden making outlaw sandwich metal and Campbell also finds time to promote other bands under the name Black Cat White Cat, of which Grady’s DJ collective Floyd Afrika are residents.
Since the launch night, Black Cat White Cat have put on nights all over London, but most frequently at The Monarch, The Lock Tavern in Camden and The Victoria in Dalston. They have hosted a huge variety of bands and DJs such as Misty Miller, Gang, Blonde Bunny, Phobophobes, Shame, Lou E, The Red Cords, Meatraffle, Max Pope, Panel Collective (France), Floyd Afrika and Bass Ventura.
In November 2015, they launched a new monthly Bristol night at The Crofters Rights, the Black Cat team are also starting smaller branches in London showcasing certain subcultures that contribute to their very varied monthly nights.
