Young People’s self-titled album will be reissued on cassette. Young People’s short, minimal, brutally beautiful songs drew their inspiration from ancient hymnals and confessionals and blues numbers, taken with a strong dose of Broadway. The L.A. trio played stark and aloof and downright frightening music: by equal measure inspiring, comforting, chilling.
Originally released in 2002 on Kill Rock Stars subsidiary 5 Rue Christine, Young People’s self-titled will be available on cassette for the first time ever on June 10th. You can take a listen to the album via the band’s Bandcamp below.
