Dennis & Lois

Dennis & LoisThey met at CBGB’s in the 1970s, traversed the US and the UK with some of their favorite bands, and have now landed themselves at the center of a documentary. They are known simply as Dennis & Lois. These names may ring a bell to fans of The Happy Mondays – the Madchester legends named a song after the couple on their 1990 album ‘Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches‘ (listen here). In a new trailer for the documentary, available exclusively via Team Rock, members of The Happy Mondays discuss why Dennis & Lois in particular inspired them and how they played a part in their lives. The clip also featuring Peter Hook, Andy Rourke, The Vaccines and more.

The superfan couple are the subjects of an upcoming documentary by filmmaker Chris Cassidy, who followed the superfan couple for over five years and interviewed many of the famous musicians who have come to love and depend on them. Marky Ramone, Frank Sidebottom, Peter Hook (Joy Division) and more can be seen singing the couple’s praises via Vimeo now. Dennis and Lois were recently featured in the New York Times, where writer Corey Kilgannon paid a visit to their house-slash-rock’n’roll shrine. The documentary, titled ‘Dennis & Lois,’ is currently in post-production and is being funded by fans. You have a couple more day to support the film via Kickstarter!
