Domina arrive with dreamy debut single ‘Apathy’

London-based trio Domina have officially arrived with their debut single Apathy, out now via Far From Presents Records — and it’s an understated gem. The track weaves minimalist electronics, delicate vocal interplay, and shadowy atmospherics into something that feels both intimate and expansive.

Apathy isn’t here to shout — it drifts, pulses, and quietly lodges itself in your brain. Fans of BroadcastBeat Happening, and Stereolab will instantly feel at home in Domina’s world. It’s lo-fi without being lazy, dreamy without being sugary. There’s an emotional weight under all that restraint.

In the band’s own words, “Apathy is reminiscent of a disjointed, not yet flowing state — rooted in Broadcast-style atmospherics. Its dream-like lyrics feel like conversation, almost calling after each other. ‘Big shoulders block the view’ seems like a distant memory, still blurred.”

They go on to describe the instrumental tension, with “electronics floating above an angular beat that repeats in an uneven cycle” while synths and guitar blur together in a hazy, pulsing unity.

It’s the first real taste of what Domina have been quietly crafting. Before this release, they dropped a handful of lo-fi sketches to YouTube, which caught enough attention to land them in the orbit of Young (the XL-affiliated label). Now recording at the label’s Dalston-based Young Space, Domina have found room to stretch and evolve — and Apathy is just the beginning.

The single is lifted from their debut EP, set to land this autumn on Far From Presents. If Apathy is any indication, we’re in for something special — introspective and strange, but never cold.

Live, they’ve been keeping it raw and experimental, playing spots like The George Tavern, Shacklewell ArmsSebright Arms, and even soundtracking a mudfight at The Horse Hospital.

Meet the trio:
Jude Dulake – vocals, keyboards
Liv Mair Allen – vocals, bass
Anders Waller – vocals, synths, drum machines

Stream Apathy now on all the usual places — and keep your ears open for that EP this fall.

You can find Domina on Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music.
