MEMORIALS follow up their acclaimed singles Cut Glass Hammer and In The Weeds with this enchanting new track. Wildly Remote starts as a delicate folk song before pivoting into an unexpected saxophone-tape-loop solo, then returning for a final verse that balances intensity and playfulness with effortless charm.

Matthew Simms reflects on the track’s origins:

We started this song in a really cliched way – during a sound check! It was at a memorable gig in Brest, a beautiful port town in Brittany. We wanted to capture the intimacy and atmosphere of live shows, where quiet, gentle moments exist amid louder outbursts. The twists and turns between these polarities are what keep things interesting.”

With ‘All Clouds Bring Not Rain,’ MEMORIALS take their influences—folk, dub, post-punk, experimental tape music, 60s soul, garage rock, 70s spiritual jazz, and Canterbury prog—and spin them into something unmistakably their own. Imagine Nico singing with Can, produced by David Axelrod, and you’re somewhere in the ballpark.

Recorded largely in a secluded barn studio in southwestern France, the album carries a sense of freedom and exploration. Susman and Simms handled everything themselves—writing, performing, recording, and mixing—hunting down specialized studios for harpsichord, vibraphone, and vintage Leslie sounds, including 4AD’s London studio and Stereolab drummer Andy Ramsay’s Press Play studio.

After composing the soundtrack for a critically acclaimed Kate Bush documentary in early 2025, the duo dove straight into recording this ambitious album over the summer, followed by a U.S. tour with Stereolab. The result? A mesmerizing, immersive listening experience, full of inventive arrangements, classic songwriting, and meticulous production—qualities that translate beautifully to their live shows.
