Montreal’s alt-pop gems FLEECE are back with their brand new single How Far Would You Go—a dreamy, groove-soaked track that glows with the rush of fresh love and the vulnerability of self-discovery. It lands alongside the official announcement of their upcoming album ‘TORNADO,’ out October 1st.
The song, produced by Gus Van Go (Metric, The Beaches, Arkells), is a sparkling burst of psychedelic pop that perfectly balances lyrical honesty with irresistible polish. It’s playful, emotional, and carries a pulse that feels both feather-light and deeply grounded.
Frontperson Matthew Ryan Rogers shares that the song was born out of a moment of uncertainty: “We wrote this song two summers ago when I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be touring and doing the whole band thing anymore. Musically though, the song is quite the opposite—it’s got spark and it’s just pure fun. I really love the contrast between the lyrics and music on this one. For me, this is the closest we’ve come to writing a pop song—the lyrics are honest, and the production is tight.”
How Far Would You Go follows FLEECE’s May 2025 single So Much Better Now, which marked a new chapter for the band—one rooted in stillness, clarity, and intention after years of constant touring and digital noise.
Formed in Montreal in the mid-2010s, FLEECE have carved out a reputation for heartfelt songwriting, fluid genre-blending, and magnetic live shows built on trust and chosen family. From their breakthrough record ‘Stunning & Atrocious’ (2021) to the forthcoming ‘TORNADO,’ they’ve always chosen honesty over expectation.
Now made up of Matthew Ryan Rogers (vocals, keys, bass), Megan Ennenberg (vocals, guitar), Jameson Daniel (guitar), and Ethan Soil (drums), FLEECE are stepping into their most open-hearted and dynamic era yet. If How Far Would You Go is any indication, ‘TORNADO’ is going to be a wild, beautiful ride.
Listen to How Far Would You Go now and keep your eyes on October 1st for the full album drop.
