Pixies’ bassist Paz Lenchantin has put on her director’s hat for the band’s latest music video, for the track Classic Masher lifted from the new album ‘Head Carrier’ (pixiesmusic/Play It Again Sam, 9/30/16).
The clip was shot in Los Angeles earlier this month and features Lenchantin’s father Mario Merdirossian as the pianist as well as three friends – Hannah Vandermolen (driver), Adelaide Crocker (middle seat) and Virginia Rand (red lips). Graffiti was created by Jules Muck “MuckRock.” Watch the video via YouTube below.
Lenchantin, who has directed a number of short films and videos in the past, said about the Classic Masher video, “Mephistopheles, the mocking and sarcastic devil behind every classic masher…Besides that, who doesn’t like a talking piano?”
Pixies just wrapped a four-date “warm up” run in Southern California and will head to Europe on November 15 for a three-week tour, Leg One of the band’s 2016-2017 global trek. Dates are below.
