Debut Album ‘Switcheroo’ Drops June 27 via Innovative Leisure
Gelli Haha is back with a new single and video that throws you headfirst into her eccentric, electrified universe—and this one’s got teeth. Spit is the latest drop from her upcoming debut album ‘Switcheroo’, and it’s a wild ride of bass-heavy beats, warped synths, and pure sensory overload. It’s got that gritty, underground club energy where the only rule is that everything starts with an S—and surrender is non-negotiable.
Directed by David Gutel, the Spit video amps up the surrealism with Gelli strapped to a spinning operation table while strange, suited “scientists” (aka the enigmatic Gelli Kompany) poke, prod, and perform bizarre experiments on her. It’s part sci-fi B-movie, part performance art, and all deliciously weird.
If you haven’t met Gelli Haha (pronounced Jelly-Haha) yet, now’s the time to step into her orbit. Think: a shapeshifter with a taste for theatrical chaos, straddling the glitter of Studio 54 and the cosmic mysteries of Area 51. Her world—dubbed the “Gelliverse”—is playful, profound, and purposefully over the top.
‘Switcheroo’, her debut LP, lands June 27 via Innovative Leisure and promises to be just as unhinged and fascinating as Spit. Produced with Sean Guerin of De Lux, the album was born from a love of quirky pop and vintage recording toys. Forget clean lines and polished production—‘Switcheroo’ is about embracing the mess, leaning into the absurd, and turning inside jokes into sonic spectacles. From analog FX like the Eventide Harmonizer to the MXR Pitch Transposer, this thing is buzzing, bending, and glitching in all the best ways.
