Get ready—SCHØØL is releasing their debut album ‘I think my life has been OK’ on September 5 through Géographie (the label behind Marble Arch, Bad Pelicans, Dog Park, Good Morning TV, and other underground gems).

Formed in Paris in the fall of 2023, SCHØØL is the sound of a daydream turned all the way up. The band features a stacked lineup: Francis Mallari (Rendez-Vous), Erica Ashleson (Special Friend, Dog Park) on bass, Jack Moase (Liquid Face) on guitar, and Alex Battez (Marble Arch) on drums. They came together to create the band they fantasized about as teenagers—one that captures the noisy charm and melodic swirl of ‘90s shoegaze heroes like Swirlies and Drop Nineteens.

You might already know them from their buzzing track N.S.M.L.Y.D, a song that’s earned them some well-deserved early hype. But now, with a full-length album on the horizon, SCHØØL is ready to show what they’re really about. This record feels like walking through the fog of your own memory—part sweet, part bitter, totally immersive.

Here’s what’s on the album:

‘I think my life has been OK’ track list

  1. Schøøl Suxx
  2. N.S.M.L.Y.D

The album has a mix of heartache, distortion, dreamy fuzz, and weird inside jokes (looking at you, “Mouzer’s Quest”). It’s loud when it needs to be, soft when it should be, and full of the kind of emotional honesty that makes you want to go start your own band.

With members from France, the USA, and Australia, and a shared love for lo-fi intensity and melodic chaos, SCHØØL isn’t just a new band—they’re a movement waiting to happen. Keep them on your radar. This one’s going to stick.
