Honey I’m Home return with dreamy new single ‘Pretty‘ + EU Tour & SXSW Locked In

Amsterdam-based alt-rock romantics Honey I’m Home are back with Pretty, a shimmering, emotionally loaded new single that feels like sticking your head out the window at golden hour and letting everything hit at once.

Blending ’90s alternative rock with shoegaze haze, lo-fi indie grit, and emo honesty, Pretty is a confident reintroduction to Honey I’m Home’s head-in-the-clouds universe. The band glide effortlessly between hushed intimacy and full-blast catharsis, stacking swirling guitars beneath lyrics that cut a little deeper the longer you sit with them.

Fresh off standout appearances at Reeperbahn and Left of the Dial—and a full European run supporting Hotline TNT via Third Man Records—the five-piece are wasting no time keeping momentum high. This spring they’ll be hitting the road with buzzy LA newcomers Rocket, linking up again with Swedish rockers Girl Scout, and making their first-ever appearance at SXSW in March.

While the track glows on the surface, Pretty digs into something darker: the idea of using appearance as armour—and the emptiness that can come with it. It’s not an attack on vanity, but a thoughtful look at obsession, self-worth, and the quiet spiral of believing your looks are the last thing holding you up. Lines like “At least I’m pretty” land with a bittersweet sting, made all the more powerful by the song’s sun-soaked distortion and sticky melodies.

Vocalist and guitarist Thom Schotanus puts it plainly:

“‘Pretty’ is about people who have learned to suppress negative emotions by fully focusing on their appearance… Eventually, people start to believe in that as a last form of support: ‘at least I am pretty.’”
