Prison Escapee releases lo-fi electronic track ‘Gunslinger’

Prison Escapee

Los Angeles artist Prison Escapee has released his second single Gunslinger, which is lifted from his forthcoming album ‘Disappearing Mountaintop’ LP. Take a listen via Soundcloud below.

Gunslinger features lo-fi playful electronic beats and laid back vocals. It’s a love song of sorts, which is a strong theme on the album. ‘Disappearing Mountaintop’ poetically plays with Hidde’s thoughts on childhood, moving to Los Angeles with his girlfriend, and Jesus Christ.

Prison Escapee is the moniker of Los Angeles based Erik David Hidde. The name Prison Escapee was formed in memory of Hidde’s best friend who hanged himself in his cell after being put away for 25 to life. Inspired by equal parts post-rock, electronica, lo-fi field recordings, and film soundtracks.

Prison Escapee has been investing the hours into his music when he returns home from his day-job until he puts himself to sleep. Both his debut and sophomore albums were written, recorded, produced, and mixed in his living room.

‘Disappearing Mountaintop’ will be released June 16, 2016 via Independent Release (digitally only).
