Electronic music innovators, Mouse On Mars, have remixed Brandt Brauer Frick’s Broken Pieces, featuring vocals by Jamie Lidell. Mouse On Mars have messed around with the track and made it weird, yet still accessible. Listen to the remix below via Soundcloud.
Today, Young Galaxy released their new single New Summer from their upcoming album “Ultramarine” due out via Paper Bag Records on April 23rd. Since it is freaking freezing in Toronto today, we are all dreaming of summer so this is a very fitting day to release the single – you can purchase it here if you like. The New Summer single comes with a “b-side” remix from Montreal’s Doldrums who spins it into weirdo, dancey territory as only he could…and we love it!
Neon Indian will release a remix EP, “ERRATA ANEX“, on April 9th via Mom + Pop. The EP features remixes of tracks from the last album, “Era Extraña“, and includes reworkings by Actress, Boyd Rice, Optimo, Twin Shadow & Patten. The title, ERRATA ANEX, is an anagram of “Era Extraña“ and so the mis-spelling of annex is intentional (it means “complied errors”).
Young Galaxy release their new single Fall For You on March 5th via Paper Bag Records and the b-side is a remix of the track by Manchester’s Ghosting Season. Take a listen to the original version and the Ghosting Season reworking via Soundcloud below.

The original of the song is off of the band’s debut album “Secondhand Rapture” out May 14th in the U.S. via Columbia Records. Watch the video via YouTube below. The band explained about the video: “Shot on location in Jamaica, Queens with our dear friend and talented director Austin Peters, the video for Fantasy stays true to the main themes and questions behind the track: things we imagine or think we understand are not as they appear. This video presents a world filled with fantasies gone wrong where the mundane, the surreal and the supernatural are all intertwined and what is real becomes a matter of perspective.”

On the EP, Cosmo Vitelli himself reinterprets the track with plenty of bass, buzzing synths, and an infectious beat. Richard Fearless (Death In Vegas) also gives the remix a whirl a dark, psychedelic track featuring deep, distorted vocals, echoing sirens, and eerie sound effects.
