Drafting behind the success of August’s release of ‘Small Problems,’ California’s The Bulls have released what front person Anna Bulbrook refers to as a “moving portrait” as a video companion for the single Rumors. Directed by visual auteur, Juan Azulay (best known for his collaborations with Lydia Lunch) the video features a ghostly visage of Bulbrook, distorted and manipulated, but never featuring any lip synching. The simple video is an ideal companion to showcase a song that drives along with heavy force, and lightly touches on 1990s stylings but never mimics it. Watch it via YouTube below.
Speaking of recent-decade fetishism, this video of The Bulls performing Come Unwound live at the BlindBlindTiger.com. Speakeasy similarly touches on the video tricks of yesteryear, with the chroma key backdrop and soaking shoegaze atmosphere around its entirety.
The Bulls will be playing October 28 with White Sea at the Bootleg (tickets) and November 11 with In The Valley Below at the El Rey (tickets).
