Night Shapes have premiered the fuzzy rock & roll soundscapes of their latest single Waiting for the Sunn on the music site The Big Takeover. The track was recorded at Oakland’s Secret Bathroom and was engineered and mastered by Andrew Oswald.
“Modestly self-described as “four dudes playing rock & roll with delay and stuff,” Oakland, California’s Night Shapes cites as influences The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Jesus Lizard, SWANS, Birthday Party, and a boatload of other heavy/atmospheric bands that always set our senses tingling.” – The Big Takeover
Upcoming shows:
11/14 Oakland @ The Bug Box w/ Cult Babies, The Strange Land
11/15 Sacramento @ Cafe Colonial w/ Cult Babies and tea
More about Night Shapes? Sound of light, fleeting darkness, wave of enlightenment, droning echoes, whirling, driving, pushing, pulling, morphing the atmosphere. reverberation, saturation. Instruments bleed through a cloud of overlapping layers until unity is acquired, lost in a sea of sound. But really, Night Shapes are four dudes playing rock & roll with delay and stuff.
