In crafting the hauntingly gorgeous track Indian Steps, which is lifted from his sophomore album ‘Lantern,’ Hudson Mohawke found in Antony a perfect and fragile collaboration. The song has now received an equally moving film courtesy of director Daniel Sannwald, made in partnership with i-D Magazine, who cites inspiration from Rodin’s ‘The Kiss’. “For the video I recreate that sculpture with two elderly bodies,” explains Daniel. “It was very touching and moving to see two ageing bodies in such an intimate way. I wanted to use them as a symbol of time but also to capture the beauty of such vulnerability.” “I strongly believe that every deep love has its own place and space and therefore lives on forever.” Watch it below via YouTube.
Faced with the challenge of performing ‘Lantern,’ this summer Hud Mo created a new live band with his music expanded across keys and drums – and has been performing electrifying sets around the globe. He has just concluded a successful run of US tour dates accompanied by RnB star The-Dream, and is continuing his live shows throughout the remainder of the year. Starting in January 2016, he’ll be performing a mixture of DJ sets and a brand-new expanded production live show for 2016. He is also confirmed for two key festival appearances with the aforementioned collaborator ANOHNI. which will also include Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrix Point Never), with both producers having worked on the upcoming ANOHNI record ‘HOPELESSNESS’. Listen to their first output 4 Degrees below.
