Out now via Speedy Wunderground
Master Peace is back at it, bringing the heat with his latest single Harley, a frenetic blast of indie-punk energy that’s equal parts nostalgic and fresh-faced. Dropping as part of the always-iconic Speedy Wunderground Single Series, and produced by the one-and-only Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Fontaines D.C., Kae Tempest), this new track has all the makings of an underground anthem.
Bristling with big riffs, bratty charm, and breakneck confidence, Harley plays like a love letter to mid-2000s indie bangers—think early Bloc Party or The Rakes—but with Peace’s signature grime-laced swagger cutting through. That fusion? It’s his wheelhouse. Punk in spirit, rap in roots, and wrapped in a shiny indie-sleaze shell.
This isn’t just a one-off, either. Harley is dropping as a limited edition double A-side 7” on August 7, paired with upcoming track Shake Me Down. A treat for the collectors and a perfect slice of what’s next for Master Peace’s sonic journey.
The new single caps off a wild ride of collabs and killer live sets: from jumping on AJ Tracey’s Don’t Die Before You’re Dead with their joint track Red Wine, to tearing it up with Franz Ferdinand (yes, that Franz Ferdinand) at Glasgow’s Barrowlands—and even featuring Johnny Marr on the B-side. Add in surprise sets at Glastonbury and a spotlight performance at BludFest, and you’ve got an artist whose live presence hits just as hard as his recorded work.
Master Peace continues to define the indie-sleaze renaissance, but always on his own terms. Think gritty lyricism à la The Streets, thrown headlong into a wall of guitars and chaos. It’s loud. It’s fun. It’s completely him.
With more music on the horizon and his creative gears turning faster than ever, now’s the time to jump on the back of Master Peace’s ride. Harley is just the beginning.
Stay tuned. More bangers are brewing.
Listen to Harley now and keep up with all things Master Peace.
