New York City electronic trio Public Circuit have handed the keys to their Brooklyn neighbourhood and the results are exactly as wild as you’d hope. They’ve dropped ‘Modern Church R//Mix//S’ — a full rework of their September 2025 debut ‘Modern Church’, rebuilt by a crew of friends and fellow scene heavyweights: Lip Critic, Shower Curtain, Grumpy, The Wants, smush, ideasforconversations and Crate.
The band put it simply: “We wanted to put out the remixes to not only highlight all our amazing friends who make amazing music, but also to revive these songs into all the different worlds we believe they belong to exist in.” Vocalist Ethan Biamont doubled down: “This album is a representation of the music and people that I love and am inspired by in Brooklyn. All of these acts push their respective genres forward — but we need to remember what it’s all about: loving electronic music.”
A taste came early with the band’s own remix of Damager — built for an industrial dance floor, no fat, all synth muscle. That’s the Public Circuit brand in a nutshell.
The original ‘Modern Church’ earned nods from NPR, Forbes, Notion, Nina, God is in the TV Zine and more. Critics noted the trio — Ethan Biamont, Sean Holloway and Nelson Fisher — sounded like they could’ve been on DFA Records in 2005 (their words, and yes, that’s a compliment). The remix album takes that post-punk-meets-electronic foundation and scatters it across eight different sonic universes. Harder. Synth-heavy. Very Brooklyn.
