Tokyo’s ever-evolving soundscapers Arrrepentimiento are back with ‘Permanent Vacation’—a two-track release that dropped in July 2025 and is now spinning across Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify, and your favourite streaming haunts.

The new project features:
- Permanent Vacation
- A Ghost Story
Short and mysterious, the pair of tracks delivers the band’s signature blend of noise, field recordings, and alternative folk, stitched together with their always-moody melodic undercurrent. It’s haunting. It’s immersive. It’s got that strange, off-kilter warmth that makes you want to disappear into headphones for a while.
This release marks another chapter in the band’s 20-year journey (yes, two decades!) that began under the moniker drawing 4-5 and eventually shapeshifted into Arrrepentimiento—triple r very much intentional. Their sound feels like a strange dream remembered in fragments: part collage, part noise, part folk, all emotion.
If you’re unfamiliar, now’s the time to dive in. Start with the new release, then fall down the YouTube rabbit hole:
Arrrepentimiento are subtle shapeshifters—never flashy, always compelling. Their work doesn’t shout. It simmers. It lingers. And ‘Permanent Vacation’ is no different.
