Manchester’s post-punk legends Chameleons are back with fire in their veins and shadows in their melodies. They’ve unleashed the promo video for Saviours Are A Dangerous Thing — the haunting new single lifted from their upcoming album ‘Arctic Moon,’ out September 12, 2025 via Metropolis Records. Watch the video below.

Vocalist/bassist Vox doesn’t mince words when talking about the track’s themes: “I just see too many echoes of the 1930s in what’s been going on in the world,” Vox says. “It’s extremely dangerous — both for the country I’ve chosen to live in and the Western world in general.”

Written collaboratively — sparked by guitarist Stephen Rice’s rough sketch before evolving into its final form — the song blends Chameleons’ trademark shimmering guitar textures, Vox’s cutting lyricism, and an urgent sense of foreboding. The accompanying video amplifies that tension, splicing vivid performance footage with kaleidoscopic imagery of war, propaganda, and unrest.

Arctic Moon — A new chapter after 24 years

Arctic Moon’ marks the band’s first full-length release since 2001’s ‘Why Call It Anything,’ and it promises a bold leap forward while honoring the sound that inspired generations of artists from Interpol to The Killers.

This record is quite different from anything we’ve done before,” Vox admits. “I know it’ll probably polarize some of the legacy audience, but we’re excited about where it’s taking us. The songwriting feels more mature — we’ve all brought our A-game to this.”

The album follows two well-received 2024 EPs — ‘Where Are You?’ and ‘Tomorrow Remember Yesterday’ — but ‘Arctic Moon’ is where Chameleons step fully into the present.
