Justin Kwan CMW

Canadian Music Week has announced Justin Kwan as the event’s new Festival Manager. Kwan will manage the festival’s bookings department, oversee venue relations and production requirements and contribute to the festival’s programming, expansion and creative direction.

“We are excited to welcome Justin Kwan to our team,” said Neill Dixon, President of Canadian Music Week. “His enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit combined with his creative edge will be great assets to the festival, especially as we take it to ten days next May.”

“I’m very excited to be part a great team and a festival with such a rich history,” said Kwan. “I’ve always been a huge fan of the festival and it’s an amazing feeling to be on this side of the fence. We’re going to be doing some very cool things in 2015.”

Justin Kwan’s background in business and advertising combined with his experience as a touring musician have established him as a rising young star in the Canadian music industry. Beginning his career in the agency world as Strategist for Salt and Pepper and Project Manager at Bensimon Byrne, he soon found himself in the music business, creating his own path. A partner at livemusicTO, he helped the company become one of Toronto’s most influential sources for music news, content, and live events. Serving as the driving force behind the company’s business operations, Kwan was integral to the success of many notable Canadian acts.

In 2012, Kwan founded Anchor Shop, a leading Toronto-based music website and promotions company, before joining INK Entertainment as a Talent Buyer. At INK, Kwan was fundamental in the rebranding and programming of Tattoo Queen West, one of the premiere live music clubs in Toronto.

Justin starts his position with Canadian Music Week immediately.
