When the Pixies’ six UK tour dates went on sale late last month, nearly 20,000 tickets sold out in mere minutes. The band have announced that three additional UK dates have been added to the itinerary – Brixton Academy on December 6, Cardiff Arena on December 7, and Birmingham Academy on December 8. The general tickets are on-sale now at Pixiesmusic.com.
The Pixies UK/European tour is in support of the band’s sophomore “post-reunion” album ‘Head Carrier’ (Pixiesmusic/Play It Again Sam/PIAS) due out September 30. Already getting terrific feedback, the album’s first single, Um Chagga Lagga, is, according to Stereogum, “a welcome dose of bracing, old-school Pixies urgency,” and can be streamed at pixiesmusic.com.
