Belgian shoegaze dreamers Slow Crush are back to melt minds and bend hearts with their third full-length album, ‘Thirst,’ due out August 29 via Pure Noise Records. This one’s gonna hit hard—in the most blissfully fuzzy, emotionally raw way possible.

And if you’re thirsty for a taste, they’ve already dropped the title track, a swirling, slow-burning anthem that encapsulates everything this record stands for. “‘Thirst’ is about that restless craving for something more,” the band shares. “A hunger for essence. For balance. For something real in a world that never stops screaming for your attention.” Sound familiar? Yeah, we felt that too.

The single barrels forward with dreamy vocals, glistening guitars, and a surge of shoegaze glory that builds into a wave of cathartic energy. It’s not just a song—it’s a portal.

From the Studio to the Soul

After spending the past few years off the road following the success of ‘Aurora’ (2018) and ‘Hush’ (2021), the band—Isa Holliday (vocals/bass), Frederik Meeuwis (drums), Jelle Ronsmans (guitar/vocals), and Nic Placklé (guitar)—retreated to The Ranch studio in the U.K. with producer Lewis Johns, ready to dig deeper and come back with something new.

And they did. ‘Thirst’ isn’t just another Slow Crush record—it’s heavier, hazier, more emotionally exposed. Isa went deep this time, sometimes recording through tears. “There were moments I couldn’t even get the words out,” she says. “It’s the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.”

Lyrically, the album explores connection, longing, and the surreal weightlessness of love—even when it hurts. “It’s about the romance of returning to someone after time apart,” Isa explains. “That feeling when everything is brand new again, even if just for a moment.”

For Your Ears, Eyes & Everything In Between

Slow Crush aren’t just trying to make a record. They’re building a world. “We want people to feel this,” Isa says. “To be completely immersed. Like stepping into another dimension—one where you can breathe again.”
