Acid Klaus has returned with his new single You’re a Freak via Yard Act’s Zen F.C. label. It’s first single to be lifted from forthcoming EP of the same name, scheduled for release this summer. Listen to You’re a Freak via Spotify here or YouTube below.

Acid Klaus is the collaborative solo project from Sheffield based artist and producer, Adrian Flanagan (founder of The Moonlandingz/The Eccentronic Research Council & more). On this party starter he teams up with Sheffield based singer Philly Piper (collaborator of DJ Parrot and I Monster).

“The track was inspired by a memory from a nightclub in Manchester years ago. This middle-aged man dressed as Michael Jackson took to the dancefloor and let loose with all the MJ moves. Within moments he was surrounded by people wanting to dance with him. Me and the other jealous 20-something-year-old lads were standing there laughing at him and calling him a freak, when really he was just having the time of his life and not harming anyone. Funnily enough, I’m now that middle aged man, slightly more comfortable in my skin, pulling all the shapes, whilst being laughed at by snotty young adonises with no moves! I’m proud of being a freak, everyone should embrace their inner freak!”

Returning following the success of his 2022 debut album ‘Step on My Travelator: The Imagine Career Trajectory of Superstar DJ Dance & Pop Producer, Melvin Harris’ (Juno Records No.1 Album of the Year, Electronic Sounds No. 8), You’re a Freak EP is also set to feature remixes from Yard Act, Baba Ali, W. H. Lung and Pye Corner Audio’s alter ago Head Technician.

Acid Klaus will be on tour in the UK across the summer including shows at The Great Escape, Stag & Dagger and Focus Wales,  culminating with a massive show supporting Roisin Murphy at The Royal Albert Hall. Expect to see him and his party collective popping up all over the place at festivals at home and abroad throughout the summer.
