Archive announce new album ‘The False Foundation’ + release new video

South London collective Archive have announced details of their tenth studio album ‘The False Foundation,’ which will be out in October as well as European tour dates to follow in November.

The new album is the follow-up to last year’s ‘Restriction’ album, which saw the collective take on a huge tour across Europe playing their biggest and most successful shows of their 20 year career, including two nights at the 6,000 capacity Zenith venue in Paris, plus main stage appearances at many of Europe’s major festivals. ‘The False Foundation’ was produced by Archive and will be released worldwide on the band’s own Dangervisit label via [PIAS] on 7th Oct 2016.

Founding member Darius Keeler said about the new album, “I think just knowing that we were working on our tenth album made this one feel like a landmark record. Our history as a collective has been a mad journey, we’ve trodden such a strange path to arrive at where we are today, and I think in a way that informed the new record and emboldened us to make what is probably the Archive album that I’m most proud of to date”.

Talking about the genesis of the album title Keeler says; “People are going to read in to who or what ‘The False Foundation’ is I guess, but they’re going to have to draw their own conclusions. I have my own take on it, let’s just say there are a lot of potential candidates out there in the world today.”

First taster from the new album comes in the form of lead-off track ‘Driving In Nails’ for which the band have collaborated with Spanish video collective NYSU to create their new video. Watch it via YouTube below.

Archive last collaborated with NYSU on their Sundance nominated ‘Axiom’ film project in 2014.

Talking about the November tour Keeler says; “With our last tour we raised the bar higher than it’s ever been before, some of the gigs on that tour were the best we’ve ever done, so the challenge this time is to take things to a level that we’ve never been to before. But I think we’re just hitting our stride as a live band, both with our performance and production, so I’m massively excited to take the new album out on the road in November”.
