“It’s tough to be cool when you’re losing your mind”. That’s the concept behind Black Adidas’ new single, Be Cool, which was inspired by the ease of losing yourself at a really good show. As much as you might want to look and act cool, eventually you’ll be overcome by the need to express outwardly how you’re feeling inside. To scream, sing, dance, sweat, or all of the above. Take a listen to the track via Soundcloud below.

From its first chord, Be Cool is quite clearly the type of song that could make nearly anyone cut loose. Featuring crunchy guitars, towering vocals, and raging synth lines recorded with a vintage Juno 60, the song is singer Courtney Ranshaw’s attempt to turn apathy into exuberance.

Churning out rugged punk rock that nods slyly to its origins without beating his listeners over the head with replica or reproduction, Black Adidas, instead, invites listeners on a sonic victory lap around the best version of punk history, paying homage to his own influences while acknowledging their sway over a generation of musicians.
