LKFFCT release new single ‘Hatchling’

LKFFCT

LKFFCTLKFFCT have shared Hatchling, the lead single off of their forthcoming full-length, ‘Dawn Chorus,’ out October 6th via Sniffling Indie Kids. Take a listen to the track via Soundcloud below.

The band explained, “‘Hatchling’ is the first song that we wrote for the new record & has been a staple in our live set for over a year now. The song is about maturation and learning to empathize with those who may not share the same life experiences or ideals.”

Having made a name for themselves in New Jersey basements with their wild live show and eclectic rock sound, LKFFCT is now gearing up to release a new album, ‘Dawn Chorus’. Comprised of Max Rauch (vox/guitar), Keith Williams (vox/guitar), Brian Legentil (bass) and Ryan Baredes (drums), the band blends elements of power-pop, slacker-rock and all of the best of your golden-era Dinosaur Jr./Pavement-influenced songs.

‘Dawn Chorus’ is the band’s most expansive record yet, not only in length but in the use of wide-ranging instruments, genres, and topics laid out across the album’s 38 minutes. Look at the first three tracks: Hatchling, A droney head-spinning psychedelic number into Down The Road, breakneck ska/punk into Anesthesia, glistening 70s esque pop.

Relationships are explored in many facets: Love (Anesthesia), the end of love (Sleeves), death of a loved one (Bridget), but don’t think the LKFFCT boys are afraid to get political. Down The Road details the hope for a more progressive/socialist society while Phobic, containing a dynamite reggae outro, raises the concerns of a public devolving into a prejudiced Idiocracy.
