The Muscadettes arrive in town previewing material off their second EP of 2015, ‘Side B,’ which will arrive November 6. Led by twin sisters Chantal & Kathleen Ambridge, The Muscadettes just premiered the first single off ‘Side B’ entitled Earthquake, via Consequence of Sound – listen to it via Soundcloud below. The Line Of Best Fit, called The Muscadettes, “quite literally sunshine and fresh air wafting from the speakers.” Joined by Joe Gagné (Les Breastfeeders) and Thomas Augustin (Malajube), The Muscadettes recorded both EPs with Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube) at Montreal’s famed Breakglass Studio, and mixed the record in Los Angeles with Lewis Pesacov (Best Coast/Fidlar).

Raccoon Fighter released their new EP, ‘Spiral Flag,’ in July recorded in the band’s hometown in S. Jersey on a Tascam Portastudio 4-track cassette recorder, above drummer Zac Ciancaglini’s parent’s garage, mixed by Brian Thorn (David Bowie/Smith Westerns). Popmatters said “Spiral Flag provides further that these guys are capable of knocking out solid tunes at will.” The band just premiered a video for the single, 15 Minutes – watch it via YouTube below.

Little Racer released their own EP, Foreign Tongues in June, a breezy four-song snapshot of what’s been ringing between bandmates Elliot Michaud, Ish Nazmi and Wade Michael, consummating the band’s West Coast vibes with ’80s Brit warble and trash, all wrapped in charming melodies reminiscent of pop’s golden era. Foreign Tongues continues to display shimmering guitars, playful lyrics, and driving rhythms, capturing the blissful joy of spring turning to summer, in the Montevideo video – watch it below via YouTube. John Richards at KEXP invited the band back in for a live session late June (listen here).

Suburban Living released their self-titled debut full-length, taking the City of Brotherly Love by storm. The 8-song collection is a dark and lo-fi collection that straddles the line between shoegaze and dream-pop. NYLON called the album, “a consistent trip into an emotional dream-pop landscape,” while FLOOD said, “[Suburban Living] lives on the same block as Real Estate and Wild Nothing.” You can watch the video for New Strings below via YouTube and watch them perform live via WXPN’s TheKey.

Also hailing from Philadelphia, Weekender emerge from the studio with a new EP in hand, due in early 2016. Since the release of their ‘Spanish Peaks’ EP in late 2013, Weekender have been building their legion of locals with a near constant pace of live performances, and honing their skills in the studio, working with producer Kyle Johnson (Modest Mouse/Waaves). Expect to hear new material but take a trip back to 2013, with the title-track, Spanish Peaks – watch it below via YouTube.

The Teen Age released their latest single, Low Cunning, early this year on Old Flame Records, continuing to kick out 3-minute, reverb-drenched, sun-soaked, Motown infused, scuzzed-up rock n’ roll bangers, while playing every DIY venue in Brooklyn, and a summer tour of the whole U.S. of A. You can listen to it below via Soundcloud. The band premiered the B-side, Pieces, via the Village Voice.
