South Florida-based alternative rock band Smelter have unleashed a whirlwind of grungy guitars and bright vocals on new single, In Spades. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jonathan Nuñez (Torche) at Sound Artillery Studios, the track builds on an atmosphere that’s lush and high energy at the same time. Drawing influence from Swervedriver and Hum, the nods to ‘90s grunge-gaze are balanced with big modern melodies that let In Spades stand on its own. You can listen to In Spades via YouTube below or here.

Formed in 2020, Smelter shares members with Ephemeral, Domain, and Gouge Away. The band released their debut EP, ‘Muffler’ in Fall 2021 followed by the EP, ‘b’ in September 2023, both recorded with Nuñez. Throughout their discography, the quintet has built a dynamic sound highlighted by fuzzed out guitars and distortion cut through more tranquil moments. While Smelter has mainly played shows in southeastern North America, the band has plans to broaden their horizons in 2024 bringing their frenetic live show to new places, and more new music for the world to hear.

Smelter is Mick Ford – Vocals, Guitar, Dylan Parisi – Bass, Robert Cerrito – Drums, Nick Cody – Guitar, and Alex Keese – Guitar.
