Montreal duo Organ Mood who are known for combining electronic music with overhead projections have announced a second album that will come out in a limited edition art book with an integrated vinyl.
‘Comme si nous étions déjà libres’ will include a 32 page collection of images used during their live performances. Watch the teaser for the album below via YouTube.
The show that will accompany the second album promises to be a new immersive experience for its audience, although the band is still keeping details under wraps. “We recently tried out the new show just as a test and the crowd really got into it”, explains Christophe Lamarche, the musical half of the project. “No one has seen the book as of yet! It took Mathieu and I a long time to get the result we were looking for by making music and art meet at a whole new level.”
“We decided to print a book this time because we just felt that the story of the album wasn’t complete without the projections that accompany it” adds multidisciplinary artist Mathieu Jacques, who has also designed shows in the past for artists such as Jimmy Hunt. “The way we see it, the second album is as much a work of physical art, as it is music.”
Originally from Sherbrooke, Christophe Lamarche and Mathieu Jacques created Organ Mood in 2008 with the hope it would transform the concept of live shows. Using with analogue synths, overhead projectors and their own homemade instruments, both artists encourage an interactive experience with their audience members by inviting them to manipulate their equipment on stage. Each person has the chance to explore the musical energy of the duo and turn a public show into a personal experience.
