Holy Golden is the multifaceted musical world of Leslie Schott and Andrew Valenti.
From euphoric dream-pop to lo-fi garage rock, their sound is refreshingly dynamic yet always maintains an unparalleled specificity. Holy Golden’s creative process is a labyrinthian breadcrumb trail fueled by their darkest sorrows and brightest fantasies, which ultimately leads them towards their imaginative kingdom of sound – whose themes are deeply personal and at the same time, universally relevant.
Each song on Holy Golden’s second album, ‘Wax Castle,’ was recorded in a unique location. From a eucalyptus grove near the Hearst Castle – to an empty mansion beside a frozen Lake Michigan – to a garage in Martha’s Vineyard. This effervescent lo-fi rock/pop is equal parts honest and cryptic and Leslie Schott’s ethereal vocals choose cathartic vulnerability over glossy perfection. Mixed by Ryan Campos and mastered by Steve Rizzo at Stable Sound Studios.
