Brooklyn psych band BIRDS will release its debut LP, ‘Everything All At Once,’ on August 18th via Greenway Records. It features a mangled, fuzzed-out mix of psych, pop, and straightforward rock ‘n’ roll that pairs catchy, ’60s-influenced hooks with the blown-out sounds of the ’90s.
The band have shared the album’s opening track, See It All, which has a hazy, laid-back vibe but keep things moving forward with driving percussion and catchy vocal harmonies. You can stream the track via Soundcloud below.
BIRDS originally started as the solo recording project of singer & guitarist Duane Lauginiger, who is now joined by Jessica Reynoza (bass, vocals), Jess Rees (guitar), and Tim Plunkett (drums). Written at Time Castle (a basement studio run by Lauginiger) and recorded by Paul Kostabi at Thunderdome Studio, their debut album tackles themes of joy, loss, and feeling disconnected. Lauginiger and Reynoza’s intertwining vocals sit atop lush layers of instrumentation, giving the whole album an etherial, blissed-out vibe.
