Remixed. Remastered. Reborn.
KMFDM’s ferocious 2005 album ‘HAU RUCK’ is getting a full-blown 20th anniversary treatment, reissued via Metropolis Records as ‘HAU RUCK 2025’.
Available as a double LP, CD, and digital drop, this remixed and remastered edition isn’t just a nostalgia trip—it’s a sonic upgrade. Stream it, grab it on Bandcamp, and crank it loud.
Why It Still Hits So Hard
Originally forged in Seattle in the mid-2000s, ‘HAU RUCK’ was KMFDM’s fourteenth studio album, coming hot off the political firestorm that was 2003’s ‘WWIII’. With the band tighter and more focused than ever, they set out to make something “more noisy, more dance-y, more electronic, and less butt rock,” as mastermind Sascha Konietzko put it.
Mission accomplished.
From the razor-sharp call to arms in Free Your Hate to the cold groove of Real Thing, the album moves between aggression and irony like only KMFDM can. There’s biting satire (Feed Our Fame), dancefloor venom (Professional Killer), and even a wild Jacques Dutronc cover (Mini Mini Mini) thrown in for good measure.
If ‘WWIII’ was the declaration, ‘HAU RUCK’ was the revolution. And in 2025, it’s back with even more punch.

A Quick Refresher: Who Is KMFDM?
For anyone new (or just brushing up), KMFDM is one of industrial rock’s longest-running, loudest-shouting institutions. Founded by Sascha “Käpt’n K” Konietzko in Hamburg back in 1984, the band has always combined relentless beats, brutal guitar riffs, and a sharp eye for the sociopolitical chaos of the day.
Their breakthrough came in the ’90s via Wax Trax! Records, where hits like Juke Joint Jezebel broke them into the mainstream and landed on soundtracks from Bad Boys to Mortal Kombat. Along the way, they helped light the path for bands like Rammstein and Korn—yes, that influential.
After a brief hiatus around the turn of the millennium, KMFDM roared back, this time featuring powerhouse vocalist Lucia Cifarelli alongside Konietzko. They’ve kept the machine running strong ever since, with frequent albums, tours, and a fanbase that’s as loyal as ever.
Their latest album ‘LET GO’ dropped in 2024, capping off an incredible 40-year run.
Bottom line: ‘HAU RUCK 2025’ isn’t just a reissue—it’s a reawakening. Get ready to crank it, scream it, and dance your aggression out. KMFDM is still kicking ass—and they want you right there in the pit.
