New Single Out Now via Alcopop! Records & Grand Hotel van Cleef
Brighton’s finest gritpop duo, Snake Eyes, are back at it—and this time they’re smashing TV sets and expectations alike in the new video for their grungy new single HDTV, out now via Alcopop! Records (UK) and Grand Hotel van Cleef (GER).
Fresh off their ‘Make You Feel Better’ UK headline tour, the duo has dropped a glorious slice of chaotic groove rock, pairing crunchy guitars with brass, scratch FX, and even cowbell. That’s right, cowbell. It’s a kitchen-sink moment and they own every bit of it.
Directed by drummer Thomas Coe-Brooker, with camera work from Lee London, the HDTV video is a joyride through parody-land. The band cheekily channels cult classics like Top of the Pops 2, A Place in the Sun, Come Dine With Me, and yep—Breaking Bad. It’s retro, it’s weird, it’s totally Snake Eyes.

The track scored its first BBC Radio 6Music spin thanks to Craig Charles, and features a production dream team: mixed by Tom Hill (JOHN, Soot Sprite), and mastered by Dan Coutant (The Wonder Years, Drug Church, Fiddlehead). It’s the third drop in what’s already shaping up to be a huge year for the band.
Vocalist/guitarist Jim Heffy breaks it down: “This song came from feeling stuck—minimum wage jobs, rising costs, you know the drill. HDTV is about finding comfort in the little things. If you’re reading this, you’re more than your day job. Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”
Heffy also let us in on how this wild ride of a track came together: “Tom Hill told us we threw the kitchen sink at it—and he wasn’t wrong. Trumpets, vinyl scratching (which Brooker taught himself just for this track!), and yes, plenty of cowbell. It’s a proper summer bop—we hope it makes you feel better <3”
The track follows the one-two punch of Hug Me (featuring Erik from German punk faves Pabst) and Jar Full of Wasps, both of which earned spins on BBC R1, BBC 6Music, and placements on global Spotify New Music Friday playlists.
Snake Eyes have been riding high with high-profile support slots alongside The Meffs, Dune Rats, You Me At Six, and Kid Kapichi. Following bassist Sophie Douglas’ departure, the band is now operating as a super-charged live duo—and they’re not slowing down.

More About Snake Eyes
Formed in 2020, Snake Eyes have already clocked support slots with the likes of Gender Roles, Delta Sleep, Bad Nerves, Don Broco and more. They’ve smashed sold-out headline tours, dropped 2023’s ‘health’ EP via Alcopop!, and turned festivals upside down—Truck, Y Not, The Great Escape, Left of the Dial, and many more.
Last year, their climate change benefit single ‘Hottest Day On Record’ raised over £400 for Music Declares Emergency and Greenpeace, with nods from Radio 1, Clash, Spotify and beyond.
Now, in 2025, Snake Eyes are going bigger, louder, and weirder. More shows. More chaos. More tunes. And yes—more cowbell.
