Breichiau Hir, a six-piece band known for blending dense layers of guitar with emotionally raw moments, are making waves with this latest release from their critically acclaimed second album, ‘Y Dwylo Uwchben’ (The Hands Above). The album is out now via Halen Records and continues their journey of crafting Welsh-language rock that feels both deeply personal and boldly experimental.

Frontman Steffan Dafydd sheds light on the new single’s theme: “This song is about coming to terms with yourself in a world that often pushes you to conform or disconnect. There’s this push and pull between going with the flow and the urge to resist or reflect, even when it’s painful. It’s about mental weight, personal growth, and the melancholy of realisation.”

If you’ve followed Breichiau Hir before, you’ll recognize their signature move — shifting effortlessly between explosive walls of sound and delicate, introspective passages. That dynamic makes their live shows something to experience, where catharsis and raw energy collide. Their music resonates from intimate venues to festival stages like the upcoming Sŵn Festival in Cardiff.

The new album digs into ideas of fate versus free will, questioning the story life seems to have scripted for us. ‘Y Dwylo Uwchben’ builds on their reputation for honest songwriting packed with gritty hooks and sweeping soundscapes.

Breichiau Hir will be hitting the road this autumn, supporting the legendary Welsh crew Goldie Lookin Chain on several UK dates, including Manchester, Nottingham, and Reading, plus that big appearance at Sŵn Festival. Tickets are on sale now: https://www.seetickets.com/
