Portland, Oregon garage rockers Gondos are back with some big news and an even bigger attitude. The band today announced their sophomore album, ‘Anatomy Of A Hornet’s Nest’, set to drop June 3rd, 2026 — and they’re not easing you into it gently. Alongside the announcement comes a double-barrel preview in the form of two new singles, Contemporary Us and When I Go, following the recently released Stop Calling Me. Digital and CD preorders are live now at gondos.bandcamp.com.

Two New Singles, Zero Chill

If you needed a barometer for where Gondos are headed on album two, these tracks are it. Contemporary Us takes dead aim at influencer culture and the hollow chase for instant fame, wrapped in blown-out garage punk intensity that hits like a static shock. When I Go keeps the fuzz cranked but channels it into something almost anthemic — a middle finger raised high at an ex with just enough melody to make it sting twice. Pair those with the ripping, dead-end-job indignation of Stop Calling Me and it’s clear: nothing and no one is out of the firing line on ‘Anatomy Of A Hornet’s Nest’. Vitriolic, tense, and absolutely in your face.

Recorded Live to Tape — The Way It Should Be

The album was tracked live to ½ inch tape by Gondos lead guitarist Ben Windheim — also a member of Portland local heroes The Macks — lending the whole thing that raw, room-filling energy that only analog can deliver. It also marks the first full-length with new bassist Elisabeth Zarnick joining the fold alongside singer Aidan Case, Windheim, and drummer Grant Anderson. The followup to their well-received 2023 self-titled debut, this record sounds like a band who’ve figured out exactly what they want to say — and exactly how loud they want to say it.
