Hull’s own rising sonic provocateurs ROTHCO have just released the gripping visual for You’re Not The Only One, pulled from their debut EP ‘Fools Gold’—out now via the ever-adventurous Man Demolish Records.

Filmed in a single take at Hull Artist Research Initiative (HARI), the video for You’re Not The Only One is a masterclass in mood and motion. Shot by Stewart Baxter (LIFE), the clip is a DIY dream, weaving through a raw, post-industrial space that perfectly mirrors the track’s dark, simmering pulse. It’s a slow-burn stunner that builds tension with every breath before erupting into something undeniably gripping—melodic yet dangerous, like a flickering fuse heading toward ignition.

We wanted to respond to the space in real time,” says Baxter. “No edits, just one continuous shot. It was all about collaboration and improvisation—using the bones of the space as part of the choreography.” And it shows. The result is a hypnotic piece that feels both spontaneous and meticulously crafted, with HARI’s distinctive energy soaking through every frame.

Sarah Pennington, director of HARI, echoed the praise: “ROTHCO brought real energy and imagination. They totally engaged with the space’s unique vibe, and it shines through in the final cut.”

If you’re new to ROTHCO, now’s the perfect time to dive in. Dubbed a “supergroup” of the Hull scene, the band is made up of familiar faces from local legends like Bunkerpop, Bedsit, Black Delta Movement, and more. Since forming just over a year ago, they’ve earned a rep for chaotic, unmissable live shows that twist and turn between brooding melodies and full-blown noise assaults.

They call their genre-bending concoction Technicolour New Wave, but really, their sound is gloriously hard to pin down—flashes of post-punk drama, disco grooves, psychedelic fog, and punk grit all collide in a swirling, theatrical energy that feels both unhinged and laser-focused.

Their debut EP ‘Fools Gold,’ recorded at York’s Young Thugs Studios with Nick “The Muscle” Russell and mastered by Pete Maher (Jack White, U2), is a tight four-track trip that perfectly captures the band’s sonic DNA. Title track Fools Gold caught early love from BBC Introducing across Hull, York, and West Yorkshire, while Coming In Hot landed on Amazing Radio’s A List and spun across Total Rock and Primordial Radio.
