Something sharp is brewing in the Welsh underground, and it answers to the name teethin. Equal parts punk spitfire and electronic mayhem, this brand-new collective has just dropped their latest track DUD — a snarling, no-holds-barred takedown of class cosplay — and announced their debut EP ‘Greed Between The Lines,’ landing October 3 via Silent Kid Records.

If you’re new to teethin, here’s the rundown: they’re a global patchwork of noise-makers rooted in Wales, pulling influence from everywhere — literally. Members come from Athens, Ukraine, the Philippines, and the Welsh Valleys, and their sound reflects that chaos and color. Imagine punk soaked in rave culture, techno crashes, and guitar fuzz — it’s a beautiful mess, and ‘Greed Between The Lines’ is their first official salvo.

Their latest track, DUD, is a razor-edged critique of privilege tourists — rich folks dressing up in “struggle” for aesthetics and profit. It’s angry, it’s honest, and it cuts through the BS. The band says the lyric “penny chic” kept echoing as they shaped the track. “It came from that time where Kim Kardashian decided to dress up as a pilgrim,” they explain. “It just sent a chill of cringe and fury down our spines.” It’s a song shaped by lived experience — addiction, poverty, and the gnawing frustration of watching others wear your trauma like a costume.

teethin isn’t just one person’s project — though it is spearheaded by Greek-Welsh artist James Minas, a circus-raised rebel who’s already earned props under his solo moniker (including Welsh Music Prize nods and slots at SXSW). He wanted something more raw, more communal. So he pulled together a crew: brothers Greg “Cannon” and Alex “Gorm” Davies on drums and bass, Emily “Koko” Kocan on synths, and Donald “DonTheMosh” Phythian on guitar and decks. What started as a reconnection with old friends became a sonic uprising.

And it sounds like that — wild, genre-splintering, genre-melting. The EP doesn’t hold back. Lead-off track THROWIN SHAPES throws shade at the ignorant, who dance through life while society collapses around them. LARA SCOFFED takes aim at beige industry plants and safe, nepotistic music. MY GENERATION drips with dread and disillusionment, mutating classic rock into a scorched post-apocalyptic anthem. And BROKE THE LIGHT gets deeply personal, channeling the ache of emotional dependency over throbbing electronics and a bassline that rumbles like a warning.

teethin doesn’t play nice, and that’s the point. They’re not here to be polished — they’re here to be real. They tackle classism, addiction, performative allyship, and systemic rot head-on. But there’s power in that mess, catharsis in the chaos. This is music for anyone who’s ever felt chewed up by the system and decided to bite back.
