PUNCHBAG are turning everyday chaos into a banger — and we’re obsessed

There’s a moment we’ve all had. You’re digging through your bag — past the crumpled receipts, the rogue lip balm, the granola bar you forgot about — and you think: this is my life now. South London siblings Clara and Anders Bach have turned that exact feeling into a certified earworm, and honestly? We respect it deeply.

PUNCHBAG’s new single What’s In My Bag is out now, and it’s the kind of track that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go. Built around the killer refrain “I’ve become my clutter,” the song crashes distortion into pop hooks in the most gloriously unhinged way. Clara puts it perfectly: “It’s an overdose of overconsumption and feeling ‘trashy’. But somehow in a fun way?” — which is frankly the most relatable sentence we’ve heard all year.

The single is the latest cut from their incoming second EP ‘I Am Obsessed,’ dropping 10th April via Mute. If their debut EP ‘I’m Not Your Punchbag’ was the selfie, this one — in the band’s own words — is “zooming in and thinking, ‘fucking hell my pores look huge’.” Same energy, higher contrast, more gunk wrung out of the dish towel. We are so here for it.

The five-track EP also includes the already-beloved title track ‘I Am Obsessed’ and the sugar-rush chaos of ‘I Love This!’ — a track where towering noise meets melody so sweet it’ll give you a toothache in the best way.
