Australia’s electro-industrial powerhouse Damage Control are back with a bang. The group—anchored by Bill Barsby, Richard Thacker, and Alex Wise, alongside Germany’s Markus App—drop their brand-new single Rage via Metropolis Records. Stream it now or grab it on Bandcamp.
Fans of their 2017 debut ‘Ultranoia’ know the project thrives on collaboration, and for their long-awaited follow-up ‘Oblivion Grid’ (release date coming soon), Damage Control have taken that ethos even further. Returning behind the boards are Canadian producer Chris Peterson (Front Line Assembly, Noise Unit, Unit:187) and engineer Greg Reely (Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Fear Factory), ensuring the new material hits hard and sharp.
Rage also introduces an exciting guest: Danish industrial icon Leæther Strip (aka Claus Larsen). Barsby shares, “We’ve always loved Leæther Strip since the early ’90s industrial and darkwave club scene. We were curious to hear what our song, Claus’ vocals, and Chris’ production would sound like together.”
Chris Peterson adds, “From my first chats with Bill over a decade ago, I believed in Damage Control. The passion and heart they pour into their music are unmistakable. This time around, with the incredible talent we’ve been lucky to bring on board, the result is their best work yet—a mix of songs full of creative spirit and joy.”
If you’ve been waiting for a new dose of dark electro-industrial, Rage is the perfect kickoff. Keep an eye out for ‘Oblivion Grid’—Damage Control are clearly just getting started.
