If you haven’t already fallen down the Angine de Poitrine rabbit hole — well, buckle up, because ‘Vol. II’ is coming to finish the job.
The anonymous Quebec microtonal cardboard duo — comprising the enigmatic Khn de Poitrine (microtonal guitars, vocals) and Klek de Poitrine (percussion, vocals) — have announced their eagerly awaited second album, ‘Vol. II,’ due Friday, 3rd April. Pre-orders and pre-saves are live now.
‘Vol. II’ promises to push even further into the duo’s signature territory — bold, high-voltage, asymmetrical, and deeply groovy. Lead single Fabienk, already earning serious love at BBC 6 Music, does exactly what Angine de Poitrine do best: take a single microtonal guitar loop and let it repeat, double, and mutate into something that feels both inevitable and completely unhinged. It’s hypnotic in the best possible way.
The Guardian put it well when they called their music “hypnotic riffs and grooves, whose proggy time shifts are all in astonishing lockstep, making this as much party music as it is prog” — and their Live on KEXP session (now past 3.3 million views, and climbing) is all the proof you need that this thing translates viscerally to a screen, let alone a stage.

‘Vol. II’ lands April 3rd. Six tracks. No filler. The full tracklist:
1. Fabienk
2. Mata Zyklek
3. Sarniezz
4. UTZP
5. Yor Zarad
6. Angor

And if that weren’t enough, the self-described Mantra-Rock Dada Pythagorean-Cubist Orchestra are heading to the UK for the very first time this May, with sold-out debut shows in Leeds (Brudenell Social Club, May 10), London (Electric Ballroom, May 11), and Bristol (Strange Brew, May 12), plus a first British festival outing at The Great Escape in Brighton (May 14–17). They’ll return to UK shores in early September for End of the Road in Dorset.
