chest. send post-punk hurtling into the future with ‘Otto’

Sometimes a track just grabs you by the collar and refuses to let go. That’s exactly what chest. do with their new single Otto — a magnetic, electric slice of post-punk that feels like it was beamed in from somewhere just slightly ahead of where the rest of us are standing.

The track is a tight little collision of jagged guitars, hooks you won’t shake for days, and a streak of electronica that gives the whole thing an irresistible pulse. Vocally, it’s got that rare quality — catchy without being obvious, urgent without being exhausting. And underneath the sonic fireworks, the lyrics take a sharp, pointed swipe at toxic masculinity. So yeah, it’s got brains and bite.

If you’re filing this one mentally, think somewhere between DITZ, Chalk, and The Horrors — that same brooding, charged energy, but with its own distinct personality carving out new space.

Otto is the first taste of chest.’s debut album, due this fall via Howlin’ Banana and Exag’ Records (Belgium). Keep your eyes on this one.
